Rotary's Charities

In achieving the Rotary Motto of “Service Above Self”, the Rotary Clubs of CBRM throughout the 2024 year donated to more than 20 community based organizations, funded scholarships for students across four schools, contributed towards causes to help alleviate hunger in the community, volunteered countless hours on community based causes, and much more . In 2023 and 2024, the Rotary Clubs of CBRM partnered with United Way Cape Breton to raise a total of $41,095 which was used by the United Way to invest in local programs that move people from poverty to possibility, enable kids to be all that they can be, and create stronger communities. Caleb’s Courage and Tom MacNeil Cancer Patient Care Fund
The Rotary Clubs of the CBRM were pleased to partner with Caleb’s Courage and the Tom MacNeil Cancer Patient Care Fund as Rotary Ribfest’s Featured Charities in 2018, 2019 and 2022. Over a three year period $163,858 was raised from donations given at the gate all in support of strengthening healthcare in Cape Breton.

Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County
Rotary Ribfest’s Featured Charity in 2015, 2016 and 2017 was the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County. During this time, Cape Bretoners donated generously to the “Give a Little at the Gate” program raising $209,588 in support of Hospice Cape Breton.
